Chincoteague & Assateague Islands: Beach-Inspired Decor, Horse-Themed Souvenirs, and a Fishing Rod
Souvenirs that recall memories. We'll give them to our friends so we can remember this trip when we visit.
Chincoteague and Assateague Islands:
Beach-inspired decor, horse-themed souvenirs, and a fishing rod
Today, we will go shopping on Chincoteague Island. This is a great place to find gifts for people who love horses, birds, or decorate with outdoor themes. Where possible, links to the online versions of stores are included in case you can’t quite get there but want to do a little shopping for the family.

The Brant
beach decor | The Brant offers a great collection of paintings of the local landscapes, beach-inspired home décor, and jewelry made from local artists. |
The Egret Moon Artworks
transmuting fire | I love the Egret Moon ArtWorks for their useful (and artistic) pottery with ocean-inspired designs. Keep an eye out for mugs, bowls, and vases featuring natural, coastal colors. If you are lucky enough to see one of their ‘transmuting fire’ paintings then I would suggest you grab it. These are in high demand because they are quite beautiful. |
Captain Steve's Bait and Tackle
the ‘everything you need’ store | Sunscreen, bug spray, fishing rods, bait…Captain Steve’s Bait and Tackle has everything that you forgot to bring with you. Most people find themselves stopping in here. They also rent cottages if you need a place to stay. It can also be a place to pick up a t-shirt for the kids. |
Blue Crab Treasures
horse cards | This is a classic beach shop where you can find coastal-themed decor, handmade jewelry, and small gifts to take home. Their playing cards that feature the local horses will be a hit with anyone who has recently watched or read Misty of Chincoteague. |
Art, Beach On The Wall, and Disorientation
I woke up this way: You might need to nail this to the wall so people don’t try to ‘fix it.’
Simple: One painting and bam! You’re at the beach.
Whoa: Am I up? Down? Surfing?
Chincoteague and Assateague Islands are places to disconnect from the phone and connect with family. Your children may want a small souvenir of the time with you and so the places featured above can provide great options. Your photos that are filled with huge grins will likely be your favorite souvenirs.
Tomorrow, we will share a summary from this week in a single location so you can find it easily when planning your trip.
See you tomorrow.
