Resting For Longevity in Dubai
The uber crazy rich crowd has some interesting hotel options in Dubai.

Resting For Longevity in Dubai
Want someone to (mistakenly) think that you are uber cool and wealthy beyond imagination? Casually drop that ‘the longevity treatment at <insert here> was interesting.’ “Longevity” is the current code word for super-ridiculous-over-the-top-exclusive.
If you have many billions of dollars just laying around, I guess you need to invest in longevity to have enough time to give it all away. Let’s use our mortal time to see where these people sleep when pursuing longevity in Dubai.

One&Only One Za’abeel

The Link
The One&Only One Za’abeel claims to unlock city elegance with unrivaled access, ease and sophistication. Yeah, whatever. So does every other hotel in Dubai. You know what this place has the others don’t?
Terrifying Pool In The Sky
The hotel has two towers that are connected by a structure called ‘The Link’ 100 meters (328 ft) in the sky. Okay, that’s interesting. The Link is one long pool with the world’s top chefs serving food and drinks. Gulp. I’m not sure that my fear of heights would welcome food but maybe a stiff drink to dull the pain when it crashes to the ground. Too dramatic?
It’s Time For A Bathing Suit
All of these photos of swimming pools reminds me that it’s time to pick out a bathing suit. Thank goodness JavaBurn found a clever way to burn fat with coffee.
Atlantis, The Palm
Sleep With The Fishes
If you just felt a little uncomfortable, then you might have seen too many mob movies. The Underwater Suite at Atlantis, The Palm doesn’t have windows that look out onto the ocean. How boring is that? This suite is underground, with a view into what is happening IN the ocean (or, at least, in the aquarium)!
Something Is Always Happening
The floor-to-ceiling “windows” give you a private view of the animal aquarium that boats 65,000 marine animals. That seems a little crowded to me. The huge ocean is probably calling these poor creatures. I can imagine sitting serenely, drinking a coffee, feeling very relaxed while watching the fish when one of them decides to eat several of the others. I guess that makes it 64,978 until the aquarium is restocked the next day. Who keeps count of these animals?
Atlantis, The Royal

Are you afraid of drowning? Maybe The Underwater Suite at Atlantis, The Palm isn’t your place. Atlantis thought of this possibility and offers a second, more glamorous option called Atlantis, The Royal. Someone really spent time on these names 😁
The Panoramic Penthouse
When offered a choice among several penthouses, which do you choose? The view of the Gulf? The view of Dubai? The view of the Marina? Why choose at all? Stay in the Panoramic Penthouse and enjoy a 360° view of everything. It’s ok to bring a friend because the dinner table seats 14. Getting a little tired of your friend? Step into a lounge where those same views can be experienced without questions such as “did you eat all of the cavier?” or ”Have you seen the pile of gold that I bought at the Gold Souk? I thought I left it in bedroom #6.”
Dubai has been an absolute pleasure and I look forward to returning (where I will stay at a Marriott). Next week, we experience something new.
See you next Wednesday.
